MHI-MME Conducts User Seminar in Imabari Exchanging Views with Ship-Owners of Seto Inland Sea in Japan
Tokyo, Japan, February 28, 2014 - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Machinery & Engine Co., Ltd. (MHI-MME) held the "Imabari User Seminar" in Imabari, Japan, on February 20 to exchange views on their products and services with ship-owners from Imabari and its suburbs.
The user seminar is an event that provides an opportunity to exchange opinions between MHI-MME and its product users. MHI-MME has held user seminars in Nagasaki, Japan, and Singapore in the past. Strong demands by Bari-ship 2013 visitors led MHI-MME to launch this third user seminar in Imabari.
The seminar focused on participants' interests with a preliminary survey. MHI-MME conducted the survey prior to the seminar and used correspondence analysis on results regarding UE Engine and MET Turbochargers. Correspondence analysis visualizes information which is similar in nature, and this procedure is widely used in brand positioning in marketing.
In light of the survey results, reliability, maintenance cost savings, ease of maintenance and after sales services of UE Engine were discussed at the seminar. As for MET turbochargers, MHI-MME introduced a high-value added lineup, Hybrid Turbochargers, VTI Turbochargers and Electronic-assist Turbochargers. Furthermore, MHI-MME proposed fuel cost savings with silencer covers and an after services menu for MET turbochargers. Finally, retrofitting with MAP Mark-W and Deck Cranes were introduced as MHI-MME variety products.
MHI-MME emphasizes User Seminars as a valuable opportunity that can be used to obtain direct feedback from customers. MHI-MME will continue to provide services and products in the future to meet the expectations of customers through future user seminars.
