MHI-MME Exhibits at SMM 2014 Introducing MHI-MME's IMO TierIII meeting technologies at one of the largest maritime trade shows in the world

Tokyo, Japan, September 24th, 2014 - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Machinery & Engine Co., Ltd. (MHI-MME) participated in SMM (Hamburg)which was held at Congress Center Hamburg, Germany from September 9th to 12th. During the exhibition, MHI-MME focused on IMO TierIII adaptive technologies and eco-friendly products named "Project MEET*." MHI-MME did co-exhibition with Mitsubishi Turbocharger and Engine Europe B.V (MTEE) which is also part of MHI group (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) in Europe.

Among IMO TierIII technologies, the low pressure EGR** system, which was developed by MHI-MME technology, has been of particularly high interest to a number of the visitors. Not only does MHI-MME low pressure EGR correspond to the NOx regulations, but it can also keep both initial costs and running costs low by recirculating low pressure exhaust back to the engine cylinders, compared with the high pressure EGR system that utilizes high temperature and high pressure exhaust.

With Tier III meeting technologies, MHI-MME will continue to provide eco-friendly, fuel and cost efficient products and services to satisfy the needs of shipping industries.
