Today, a large majority of the light water reactors can be divided into two types: Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) and Boiling Water Reactors (BWR). Our company is active manufacture of PWR type fuel. Additionally, our company manufactures non-fueled control components which are co-resident with fuel.
About PWR and BWR
In the case of a PWR, the high-temperature, high-pressure water produced in the nuclear reactor is sent to a steam generator, where water flowing through separate tubes is transformed into steam. This steam is sent to the turbine where it rotates the generator to generate electricity.
In the case of a BWR, water is transformed into steam in the nuclear reactor and sent directly to the turbine.
