1949 | SAMOFA (SAmenwerkende MOtoren FAbrikanten) is established in Harderwijk (NL) producing small, water-cooled diesel engines for the Benelux market. |

1957 | Start production of air-cooled diesel engines. |
1971 | SAMOFA begins importing Mitsubishi diesel engines to extend their range. |
1980 | SAMOFA is taken over by the Japanese multinational Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. The new subsidiary is to be known as MHI Samofa Diesel BV. |
1988 | MHI Samofa Diesel BV merges with other MHI product groups the company is renamed MHI Equipment Europe B.V., abbreviated to MEE. |
1989 | New factory opens on De Vaart (industrial estate) in Almere where, two years later, MEE produces the first turbocharger. |
1993 | The fork-lift truck division stays behind at the old location and continues as MCFE. MEE transfers its activities to a new location on De Vaart in Almere. On the new location MEE starts with 3 divisions; engines, turbochargers and an airconditioning division. |
1997 | MEE builds a second factory and achieves ISO 9001 certification. |
1998 | MEE opens its French Branch Office in Marly (North of France). MTEE-F is specialized in powerplant and energy systems. |
2000 | The airconditioning division becomes independent and transfers its activities to a new location. New this year is the entry of Corrugating Machinery to MEE. |
2001 | MEE achieves ISO 14001 certification for its Environmental Management System. |
2003 | MEE turbochargers Division achieves ISO/TS 16949 certification. |
2004 | MEE opens factory four in Almere. |
2006 | MEE passes the one million turbochargers mark per year. |
2007 | The Corrugating Machinery division independent continues on a new location in Almere. |
2009 | A fifth factory opens in Almere for the purpose of producing 4 million turbochargers per year. |
2011 | MEE achieves the AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) status. |
2013 | MHI Equipment Europe B.V. is renamed Mitsubishi Turbocharger and Engine Europe B.V., with no abbreviation. |
2014 | Mitsubishi Turbocharger and Engine Europe B.V. produces its 20.000.000th Turbocharger since the start of production in 1991. |
2016 | The Norwegian Gas and Diesel Power AS (G&DP) becomes a subsidiary of MTEE and its new name becomes Mitsubishi Turbocharger and Engine Europe B.V., Norwegian Branch Office, Marine and Power Solutions. The Turbocharger Division produces the 25th million turbocharger. |
2018 | The Turbocharger Division produces the 30th million turbocharger. |
2019 | MTEE is expanding the turbocharger test facilities and opens Factory 6. |
2022 | MTEE achieves ISO 45001 certification for its Occupational Health & Safety Management System. |
