ADVANCED TESTS FOR FAST INSTALLS

As one of the only OEM to have a compressor test stand performing PTC 10 Type 2 testing in the region, this investment allows the customer access to a local and timely explanation of shop test results.

MCO-I has made substantial investments in the U.S. Gulf Coast over the last few years while many others have relocated their manufacturing facilities overseas. The new MCO-I test stand means the Gulf Coast region now boasts the presence of a global compressor manufacturer with a significant regional presence, enabling the manufacture, assembly and testing of centrifugal compressors on the US Gulf Coast for the first time. This will minimize schedule risk for clients as it simplifies logistics to site for installation, allowing for an overall competitive project delivery.

As one of the only OEM to have a compressor test stand performing PTC 10 Type 2 testing in the region, this investment allows the customer access to a local and timely explanation of shop test results.

Every compressor that MCO-I manufactures is custom made and designed precisely around the unique process conditions for various industry applications such as petrochemical, fertilizer, refinery, and more. As an industry standard, customers will not have a compressor delivered without it first being verified to perform in the scenario for which it was designed. Therefore, accurate and reliable mechanical run and performance tests in line with the ASME PTC 10 test code are required to verify the mechanical performance of each compressor before it is shipped to client’s site for installation. These mechanical tests confirm the performance and reliability of the train prior to shipment, to ensure delivery of a robust package.

The new localized offering means that more than 90% of the test stand’s customers are now located within a 300-mile radius of the facility and these customers will benefit from much shorter project lead times, allowing for quicker time to market, potentially saving each customer hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“Additionally, due to close proximity to existing plants, we’ll be able to offer performance testing and mechanical runs of compressors that have been revamped and/or significantly modified, all within a tight customer turnaround schedule,” said Clayton Jurica, Vice President of Sales, MCO-I. “We’re extremely proud to have made substantial investments in the Gulf Coast over the last few years while many others have relocated manufacturing internationally.”
