Tokyo, December 13, 2013 - PW Power Systems, Inc. (PWPS), a group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., announced today a contract with La Société Algerienne de Production de Eléctricité (SPE), a subsidiary of Sonelgaz, to provide 20 FT8® MOBILEPAC® units for four locations in Algeria. SPE is a state-owned entity that is responsible for electricity generation throughout Algeria. The contract also includes fuel systems, demineralized water systems, mobile self-cleaning inlet air systems, black start generators and strategic spare components.
"We are delighted that SPE has again chosen the MOBILEPAC to meet their needs for quick, reliable power," said Peter Christman, president of PWPS. "PWPS is rapidly expanding its footprint in Algeria and we are honored to be supporting SPE in the expansion of the energy infrastructure in Algeria."
The 20 MOBILEPAC units will be installed in four locations; two near Algiers, one in central Algeria and one in eastern Algeria. The units will be delivered in support of meeting the 2014 summer peak electricity demand.
