Supporting long-term continuous operation as a trusted advisor

Our company is a Saudi Arabian corporation established as a joint venture between Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation (MCO) and Mitsubishi Corporation. We are engaged in after-sales services for compressors used in the country’s petrochemical industry and gas plants as well as steam turbines for compressor drives. In 2017, we began using part of Mitsubishi Power Saudi Arabia Limited, Co. (MPWSAU)’s factory to perform inspection and repair of vital components, and since then, we have performed inspection and maintenance work on over 30 rotors per annum. Since the 1970s, MCO has supplied around 600 compressors and turbine drives across the Middle East region. Our customers wish to maintain continuous stable operation of their plants over longer periods of time. To meet these demands, we offer the newest technologies, including periodic diagnostic services, advice on resolving issues, and in-person inspections as part of our Value UP Menu(Note).

PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Test) inspections

A type of ultrasonic flaw-detection inspection for steam turbines. It can detect flaws in the rotor blade while the rotor is in an assembled state, so we use it for maintenance inspections. Detecting and repairing structural defects ensures long-term operational reliability, and the number of inspections performed has been increasing in recent years.

SermaLon coating

By coating the gas flow surfaces of the compressor rotor and the stationary parts with PTFE(note), the surface roughness is significantly reduced, preventing imbalances due to polymer adhesion caused by gases released during operation. This allows for continuous long-term operation. MCOSA’s rotor maintenance Value Up Menu services include both new and repeated coating.

  • Polytetrafluoroethylene. A fluorocarbon polymer created from fluorine and carbon atoms. It is mainly used in industry, as demonstrated by DuPont’s commercialization of it as Teflon, though it can also be found in everyday life. It is highly resistant to heat.
