New President for MHI

Tokyo, January 29, 2008 -- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) announced that Mr. Hideaki Omiya, currently an MHI Representative Director and Senior Executive Vice President, was named the new President of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. The decision was made at the extraordinary meeting of the board of directors, held on January 29. He will assume the new position on April 1, 2008.

Mr. Kazuo Tsukuda, the current President of MHI, will become Chairman of the company succeeding Mr. Takashi Nishioka who will become MHI's Senior Corporate Advisor.
