2024: A Year When MHI Group Launched a New Medium Term Business Plan Focused on Business Growth and Profitability Improvements

• In April 2024 we launched our 2024 Medium Term Business Plan, which aims to balance business growth with further profitability improvements.
• After recording our highest-ever annual results for order intake, revenue, and business profit in FY2023, we have made a good start in FY2024, with results in the first half coming in very close to target. This year we must strive for even greater heights.

2025: The World is at a Crossroads

• On the international stage, tensions remain high, and changes of government around the world have made the future course of events uncertain.
• Earthquakes, typhoons, and other natural disasters have highlighted the urgent need for environmental action. The world is at a crossroads. But MHI Group will stay the course and continue providing social infrastructure to support safe, secure living.

Three Requests to Enable MHI Group to Weather Rapidly Changing Times

• Listen to the Market and Your Customers
  In a time when needs are rapidly changing, we must sincerely listen to the community and our customers in order to provide products and services that exceed their expectations. We must always be asking "what" our customers require and "why," if we are to get to the root of their latent needs.
• Always Start with "Yes"
  Innovation rarely comes from a monoculture. Ideas are born from diversity of opinion. We tend to hold tight to our own experience and knowledge when it comes to making decisions. Never start off with a "No." What is important is to seek out each solution after a frank discussion - one that starts with accepting and respecting differences of opinion. A team where this is the norm will have the diversity it needs to create new value. In order to address the energy transition and other challenges, by applying our products and technologies our Group aims to become a hub for various ecosystems by collaborating with colleagues and external partners. There are always conflicts when bringing together different industries and stakeholders, but by starting with "Yes," we can work toward creating new value.

  This year, again, I hope you will step up and take responsibility for your work. MHI Group has a long history, and today we have a responsibility to pass on to the next generation what we have received from our forebears. We must all be determined and prepared to take on the challenges of today and overcome them, to forge a new path to the future.
