Tokyo, September 1, 2017 - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group announced today it will allocate financial assistance of US$300,000 to relief efforts in the area of Houston, Texas, following the devastating hurricane and flooding.
"Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group feels a strong connection with the Houston area and is thinking of all those affected by the disaster," said Group CEO Shunichi Miyanaga. "We are committed to helping those communities in any way and to supporting the city and surrounding areas with its recovery."
MHI Group has built a significant presence in Houston, the site of its North America headquarters, which it opened in May 2016. It employs some 1,200 people in Texas, including at Group companies Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc.(MCFA) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor International Corporation(MCO-I). The company is working extensively to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all its employees in affected areas.
