Concerning Media Report Relating to Nuclear Power Plant Construction Plans in Turkey
The morning edition of Nihon Keizai Shimbun ("The Nikkei") on Tuesday, June 9, is reporting 2015, that Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) and Itochu Corporation are planning to collectively invest about 180 billion yen in a joint venture to be established in conjunction with plans to build and operate a nuclear power plant in Turkey. However, MHI has not made any announcement regarding the content being reported.
Although MHI is planning to invest in a company which will be established to implement the feasibility study for a nuclear power plant, at the present time no decision has been made on the amount of investment and MHI's proportionate share on the joint venture which will build and operate the said plant as mentioned in The Nikkei's report.
