Drying is one of the most effective methods to reduce the sludge volume drastically and minimize the disposal cost and volume for landfill. Because of its unique shaped disks and double/quadruple rotating shafts, Mitsubishi Smart Dryer can dry various sludge stably and economically. Especially, Mitsubishi Smart Dryer is one of the most suitable dryer for treatment of sticky sludge generated from municipal sewage water treatment facilities and is applicable to the range from 10 ton/day to hundreds of ton/day.

Effective utilization of surplus steam

In case that there is available surplus steam produced from neighboring facilities in the range between 0.5 and 1.0 MPaG, such a surplus steam can be used as heat source of the Mitsubishi Smart Dryer.

Utilization as biomass fuel

The dried sludge can be utilized as the biomass fuel in a boiler, cement kiln and Waste to Energy facility etc. Lower Heating Value (LHV) of the dried sludge is approximate 5,000 kJ/kg to 6,500 kJ/kg (in case of Asian typical sludge at water content rate 40%).
