Yokohama Arena is one of Japan's emblematic halls for multipurpose events. The scale and systems of the venue have remained among the top in the world since the arena was completed in 1989.
The 11,000 Lambda-type retractable seats installed at the venue were the first ever in Japan to be capable of rearranging themselves into diverse seating patterns in an arena-scale venue by full computerized control.

The largest event hall in Kyushu, a venue extensively used for concerts, sports events, and exhibitions.
Lambda-type retractable seats are installed on the entrance side of the venue. The seats are collapsed under the floor when not in use. The floor flattens once the seats are fully retracted, producing a smooth flow line from the entrance to the arena.
